Here are some of the things the children made while learning about Texas. Enjoy! :)

TEXAS

This week we will be learning about the letter "Rr"(practice recognizing the letter, writing the letter, and the sound of the letter) and reviewing the letter "Qq". We will also be learning about Texas! We started last week with by making the Texas flag and painting the Texas Bird, the Mockingbird. Also, as you should still be doing everyday, please continue to practice with your child the letter sounds, alphabet, numbers, colors, & writing their name.

How Polar Bears Stay Warm

Yesterday we did a cool experiment in showing the kids how the Polar Bears stay warm in the cold. We filled a glove with lard [fat], then had the kids put a glove on and slide their hands in the glove with the lard [fat]. Then, we had them place their hands in cold water and tell us which one felt colder then the other. They had a lot of fun with this and so did we!

We will also be learning about Polar Bears & Penguins [Where they live, what they eat, their body parts, their babies, how they swim, and how they stay warm] . Also, as you should still be doing everyday, please continue to practice with your child the letter sounds, alphabet, numbers, colors, & writing their name.

Welcome Back Everyone!!

We hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Break and are ready to learn! It's 2010 now and we are ready for a great rest of the school year!

This week we will be learning about the letter 'Oo'(practice recognizing the letter, writing the letter, and the sound of the letter)and we will be learning about New Years [How we celebrate, what we do, and the Chinese New Year] and Magnets. Also, as you should still be doing everyday, please continue to practice with your child the letter sounds, alphabet, numbers, colors, & writing their name.
